Profoto has announced the B10 OCF, its smallest cordless off-camera flash that has five times more power than a speedlight.
The B10 is a 250Ws light with a 10-stop variable power range, and recycle times of .05 to 2.2 seconds.
Flash duration comes in at 1/7000 second, or in ‘Freeze Mode’ it can run 1/50,000 second at minimum power.
It is the size and shape of a zoom lens and weighs 1.5kg.
The LED light can be used continuously for either video or stills. Brightness and colour temperature is adjustable, with a maximum output of 2500 lumens and a temperature of 3000-6500K. Its CRI of 90-96 makes it suitable for video production.
A lithium-ion battery provides 400 full-power flashes, and takes 90 minutes to charge.
Other features include:
– TTL Auto Exposure Control, and AirTTL wireless control from 300m;
– Bluetooth connectivity;
– Compatibility with Profoto’s 120 light shaping tools
The Profoto B10 will be ‘available soon’. American pricing is currently around US$1595
