Photography Explained with Ken Duncan

One of Australia’s finest landscape photographers, Ken Duncan, is heading to Broulee in New South Wales’ South Coast for a ‘Photography Explained’ workshop in late July.

kndcnPhotographers from any skill level are invited to attend and fine-tune there skills with Ken (pictured right), who will share his tips, techniques and experiences in this ‘classroom-style’ seminar.

‘When I’m not travelling the world with my camera, I teach people how to become better photographers,’ Ken said. ‘Some are seasoned pros, some are just starting out. It doesn’t matter, because my tips and principles are universal.’

The landscape photographer, whose resume would read more like a bibliography of a university paper, has captured iconic images of Australia’s natural environments that have assisted in raising awareness to protect them, which earned him a Medal of the Order of Australia from the Government in 2009.

He doesn’t believe it is about the gear you are using, ‘technical tricks or the latest Photoshop features’, but simple principles relating to things like vital camera settings, finding ‘magical light’, image composition, and post-production, to name a few. Ken will also give an insight into working for major companies and celebrities like Mel Gibson.

The workshop will run for a full day on Satuday, July 26, at St. Peter’s Anglican College Arts Centre, Broulee, and Ken is quite convinced tickets will sell out. Tickets are $215 per person and can be found here.

More information regarding the event can be found on Ken Duncan’s website.
