Afrika – The Wild
Black Eye Gallery
Afrika – The Wild will be the first showing of the exhibition by photographers Ken and Michelle Dyball.
The large format stills depict the majesty and rawness of the country, and were selected from an archive of work shot over a ten year period while the couple resided in Africa. Unlike most ‘visiting’ image-makers of Africa, the Dyball’s knowledge and connection to the land is shown through their unique and unrepeatable images. The photos have won multiple awards, including ‘Nature’s Best African Photography Awards’ and ‘BBC Wildlife Photographer of the year’. The couple will soon be the subject of a publication by the prestigious Natural History Museum in London, which acknowledges the beauty of the work, as well as its ethological importance.

Relics Shan Turner-Carroll
Grace Cossington Smith Gallery
In this exhibition, the first solo presentation of Shan Turner-Carroll’s work in Sydney, the artist explores personal and archetypal psyches on a journey through inner worlds and geographic terrain.
Drawing from several key bodies of work and featuring newly developed installations, Relics loosely traces the evolution of Turner-Carroll’s artistic practice – showcasing his craftsmanship and illustrating the multi-functional role of the camera.
